IDTotal Protect Program

IDTotal Response was created to help the nation’s local, state and federal government and healthcare , corporations and educational institutions plan for the possibility of an identity theft and data breach within its organization.  By “Data Breach” we mean an accidental or malicious incident resulting in the loss of personal information of employees or constituents.  This personal information is often used for individual fraud and identity theft.  The stealing of information has become a nationwide epidemic!

An Organization that DOES NOT PLAN May be Exploited in a Time of Crisis!

There is no national benchmark for pricing services to respond to an information security breach incident, and yet many states attorney general will require that you respond by providing services to mitigate the risk of identity theft to affected persons.  According to a benchmark study by the Ponemon Institute in November 2007, the average cost of dealing with a data breach rose last year to $182 per person.  This is partly due the fact that, in a time of emergency, the last thing you can afford to do is shop around for a fair price.  Many other firms providing Breach Resolution and Response Services have taken advantage of your emergency.

Don’t Be Fooled by Promises of Million Dollar Guarantees and Prevention of Identity Theft

Be warned!  The Identity Theft Solutions Industry is yet unregulated, and is ripe with abuses.  No service can prevent identity theft, no matter how large the guarantee.  Some services provide automated fraud alerts and claim the service can prevent identity theft.  These services are under scrutiny and the subject of current litigation for fraudulent practices.   These services offer little benefit for your affected consumers and offer no protection for your organization.  And the cost can be as much as $120 per year.
